The title: South Africa's G20 Presidensy: Solidarity, Equalityl, Sustainability- a Conversation with Japan I opened the opening remarks by Dr. Marwala who is UNU rector and Under Secretary-General of the UN, and by Ms. Arfiiya Eri Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and by Ms. Moraka Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation. Then Mr. Mashatile Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa talked about the key note speech in this symposium. The panel discussion started with Dr. Marwala, Mr. McKenzie ( Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture), Dr. Nkabane (Minister of Higher education), Mr. Steenhuisen (Minister of agriculture), and Mr. Tau (Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition). They all have much enthusiasm for the relationship between Republlic of South Africa and Japan, as for natural disaster, investment, and AI. They said it is very important to have strong international cooperation and the multilateral system. Key prioritiesare sustainable financing for development and climate action, addressing the debt burden of countries in the Global South, food security and harnessing the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. It was crowded with many Africans and they applaused with standing obation many time. It is the Africa! After the symposium we had reception as usual but it was more grand party than usual. And I talked with few person and enjoyed to take photo with Dr. Marwala. Especially I was happy talking with Madam Ikegame who is a professor of South Africa University andhad the conversation series of UNU on 19 Feb. 2025. We talked about Rwanda and she gave me a chance to suggest somthing on email about Africa. The symposium was very exiting and I got many things from there.
